Well hey there ladies and gents! I'm so glad you're moving along in the chapters of Nikita Banana Company. This chapter, unsurprisingly, is about me.

Now, how should I start telling you about me... well the beginning, of course!! I grew up in Richmond, Virginia but am currently living in Washington, D.C. I have gypsy blood running through me, from my sweet mom, so I'm not sure how long I'll last here (but I really am LOVING it so far). For now, I scratch that itch with travel! Oh what I would do to be back in the country side of Italy (sigh).

Moving onto how that person above (me) made it into a career of design, oh boy. I have always been a visual person; the aesthetic around me LITERALLY impacts my mood, for better or for worse. If I am not surrounded by organized, aesthetically pleasing decor, I can't stop thinking about it until I fix it. A bit ridiculous, I know. So clearly, that need for visual appeal runs through me.

Back to how this all fits in my path to design - in college I majored in psychology. I initially wanted to become a psychology professor, and while it is still one of my dream paths, I realized one person doesn't have to have ONE dream path. I explored multiple forms of artistic outlets, such as photography. But at 23, when I started designing for fun, I KNEW I had hit another dream path.

All this is to say, you're not too young, or too old, you didn't waste your time along another path. It is not just ok to pursue a new path, it's AMAZING. It takes courage, passion, and (worst of all) risk. The fact that I am already so far along a dream path of mine is INSANE - I get to help and create for other business owners, and it makes me so so happy to wake up to that everyday.

KEEP SCROLLING FOR FEWER WORDS

01.

IF I COULD BE ANYWHERE, DOING WHATEVER I WANT THIS MOMENT (WITH NO RISK OR MONEY RESTRICTIONS) I WOULD BE...

sun-bathing with a cranberry refresher in one hand and a book in the other hand, gazing over the other Italian mountains. Total relaxation, in my favorite place.

IF I HAD TO PICK ONE THING AS MY COMFORT ITEM, WHETHER IT BE WHEN SICK, SAD, OR ANGRY, I WOULD PICK...

My cat Prancer, I can't image doing life without him. While I undoubtedly love my family more, there is an innocence of animals that humans will never learn.

IF I COULD READ A STORY OVER AND OVER AGAIN, BUT AS IF I HAD NEVER READ IT BEFORE, I WOULD READ...

HARRRRRRY POTTERRRRR omg Harry Potter. I am way late to the game of obsessing over this series, but wow have I taken that obsession to a new level.
